Nimbin Sk8 Park - foam soundproofing

FONS (Friends Of Nimbin Skatepark) is going ahead with flying Glen Angus up here from Melbourne, asap, so he can do an onsite estimate of costs and sound reduction achievable with his foam.
He may even fly himself in his own plane apparently! Hopefully when he is here someone from Lismore Council will have the time to meet him.
We have a serious communication breakdown issue between the Nimbin community and LCC.
The Police tower last week is a classic, and this morning the appearance of a bobcat and welders on the SK8 Park were like poking a hornets nest. Every weld damages the skating surface of course. The current joke in town is:"Hey, Council is spending money on the SK8 Park at last!" We are left to the end of the list in Nimbin, way too often, but the skatepark is a serious travesty. However the situation can be saved, it's not too late.
I don't think many people realize how unique and excellent Nimbins skatepark is. I only know because skaters from around the globe keep telling me. It's an amazing steel sculpture in fact, great art which is so typical of Nimbins creativity. Original, and practical. If you have seen 30 young kids skating there on a saturday morning you know how well it works.
It's a fact that people in this community feel like Council never supported the skatepark. They set the noise compliance level impossibly low. It needs us to make a stand on this. All skateparks are noisy, even concrete ones which cost $300,000, which would easily sound proof the Nimbin ramp. In fact that much money could enclose it in a shed!
